The rules of the zombie movie largely came from the original Zombieland — Western Pennsylvania, home of George A. Romero’s horror classic “Night of the Living Dead” (1968). That movie includes one immutable rule of zombie movies — “Kill the brain, you kill the ghoul.” The only way to kill a flesh-eating zombie is to destroy its brain. READ MORE

Please attach a synopsis of your work (about 100 words) on a separate sheet.
Signature and submission of your work IS the granting of permission to the Pittsburgh Film Workers Association to publicly display submitted materials and works in conjunction with the 2009 Pittsburgh Film Workers Association Film Festival. Every precaution will be exercised in handling entries.
The Pittsburgh Film Workers Association, its members or agents will not be held responsible in the event of the loss or damage to any submitted work(s).
Owners of submissions accepted for exhibition will be notified by E-Mail by August 31, 2009.

Please remember that nominations and elections for Pittsburgh Film Workers Board members will be held May 17th, at the next scheduled meeting. Meetings are held at the Pittsburgh Filmmakers, 477 Melwood Avenue, North Oakland in Pittsburgh, on the third Sunday of each month at 11:30 am.

The Pittsburgh Symphony’s chamber orchestra series — gone. The International Poetry Forum — kaput. The Pittsburgh Folk Festival — missing in action for 2009.
The culprit in all three cases — money, or rather, lack thereof.
